My name is Heidi Gillen. I am a mother of 3 little girls and I’m obsessed with cake.  I took my first Wilton class July 2008. I had done several cakes prior for my 3 children’s birthdays and really wanted to learn how to do it the right way. It quickly became an obsession and I have immersed myself in ‘caking’ and learning everything there is to know. Along with the Wilton classes, I have found a great resource in fellow cake decorators. There are some super talented people out there willing to share their art with others.

In April 2009 I entered the Children’s Miracle Network cake challenge and show. My pre-made cake took first place in my division and I had a blast during the cake challenge. I had the opportunity to meet Food Network champion and expert cake decorator, Norman Davis, who came to help judge. He was even kind enough to autograph my cake tackle box! I look forward to teaching this awesome edible art form and learning along the way!
